1. What is the fundamental difference between a "Pull Rule" and a "Push Rule" in Odoo?

A Pull Rule moves products forward to a new location, while a Push Rule moves them backward to storage. A Pull Rule is triggered by a "need" (like a sales order), while a Push Rule is triggered when a product arrives at a specific location. Pull Rules are only used for purchasing, and Push Rules are only used for manufacturing.

2. How does Odoo determine the path a product takes when a customer places a sales order?

The warehouse manager must manually draw the path for every single order. Odoo creates a series of transfers backwards from the customer's need to the source of the product using Pull Rules. Odoo always sends the product from the nearest vendor regardless of the warehouse rules.

3. What happens automatically when you change a Warehouse's shipment settings (e.g., from 1 step to 3 steps)?

Odoo automatically updates the Push and Pull rules for you to reflect the new logistics flow. You must manually rewrite every route in the database to avoid errors. The system deletes all existing stock and requires a new inventory count.
