1. What is the main characteristic of Consignment stock in Odoo?

The products are automatically purchased by the company as soon as they enter the warehouse. The vendor allows the company to store and sell products without buying them upfront; the vendor remains the owner. Consignment products can only be sold to other vendors, not to final customers.

2. Why is there no Purchase Order (PO) involved when receiving Consignment stock?

Because the company is not actually buying the stock from the vendor at that moment, so a manual receipt is created instead. Because Odoo only allows purchase orders for products that are manufactured in-house. Because the vendor sends the products as a gift and does not expect any payment later.

3. How does Consignment stock affect the Inventory Valuation report in Odoo?

It doubles the valuation because the products are technically in two places at once. It uses the product's cost field to increase the company's total asset value. It shows a total value of zero because Odoo recognizes the products are owned by someone else.
